Known Netway Bugs

Because Netway is a prototype program from a research project that has developed over time, there are many bug fixes integrated into it that may fix one problem, but cause another to arise elsewhere.  Efforts are under way to update the Netway software, but in the meantime it is likely you may need to have some work-arounds for some known issues.

  • Browser! – First and foremost – we note the most bugs when using Internet Explorer
    • Solution: we recommend you try Firefox or Safari or Chrome. Netway was extensively tested with Firefox.
    • If you have used the Netway recently, be sure to clear your cache and refresh your browser.
  • Known bug in Chrome – Home page doesn’t display properly – Programs box spans the whole width of the screen, the playlist list looks weird, and Alerts don’t show up.
    • Log out of the Netway, clear your cache, log back in.
  • Known bug in IE – Stakeholder map – when using IE – when you go to add a second stakeholder, it takes you out of the program page and doesn’t save the stakeholder.
    • Solution: Try a different browser.
  • Known bug in IE – Adding elements to the Logic Model – you may notice that you can add one element with no problems, and on the second addition it takes you to a different page – the element still gets added (context, assumption, input, activity, output) but for some reason it takes you to the wrong page.
    • Solution: We have put “breadcrumbs” on those pages so you can easily return to your program page.
  • Known bug – sorting activities and outcomes – sorting works, but you may not be able to see the changes right away regardless of which browser you use.
    • Solution: refresh your page
  •  Known bug in all browsers – sometimes the Help sections and Book Icons don’t open
    • Solution: clearing your cache, refreshing your page, or both often helps. If not, and you’re using IE, try another browser.
    • Log out of the Netway, then log back in – that seems to help the bug in both IE and Firefox.
  • Known Bug in all browsers – scrolling issues in drag and drop from Logic Model to make pathways –
    • This bug has been addressed for FF and IE (7/29/15), however, you may need to clear your cache in order for it to work.  If it doesn’t work for you, other options are to zoom out [“CTRL” and “-“] or go to the pathway model page and use the “add link” option.
  •  If you come across new bugs – something that doesn’t work properly, please use the “contact us” link at the top of the page to let us know.
